GENERAL QUESTIONS
| Q |
What is Xizzo?
|
| A |
Xizzo is a small application that securely stores web page user
names and passwords. When a user surfs to the login page of a web
site, either through their browser or by using Xizzo's Internet
launcher, one click of a button enters their user name and password
into the login form. Xizzo can even be used to fill in long forms
within applications, such as Access and Excel, even Word.
|
| ^Top |
| Q |
How does Xizzo work?
|
| A |
Xizzo works by storing a web page's login credentials and then
gives you 1-click, auto-entry of your user name and password for
that web page. It even works for filling out forms in applications
such as Word, Access, Excel, StarOffice, etc.
|

| Q |
Is Xizzo secure?
|
| A |
Yes, all information is securely encrypted using a custom plus
the Blowfish algorithm.
|
| ^Top |
| Q |
How does Xizzo store data and where is it?
|
| A |
Xizzo stores data in an encrypted file (with the extension .XIZ).
By default, this file is saved in your_xizzo_installation_directory/data
directory, but the user can choose to save their file in any directory
or on a storage device (e.g. USB flash drive). Multiple users can
store their data in the same directory as long as each .XIZ file
is uniquely named.

| Q |
Does Xizzo work with browsers other than Internet Explorer?
|
| A |
Yes, the current version of Xizzo works with any browser.
|
| ^Top |
| Q |
What about IE's Auto-Fill function?
|
| A |
Xizzo may not always function correctly with Internet Explorer's
auto-fill feature. We recommend you turn this feature off because
it is not secure as Windows will remember your usernames and passwords
and auto-fill them for you when you land on the page. It someone
else is using your computer, they have access to that web page now.

How do I add a category to Xizzo?
|
| A |
Categories allow you to sort your web pages in some meaningful
way. For example, you can include all of your Yahoo login pages

category. Similarly, you could have categories for Banks, Stocks,
Personals, etc.

| Q |
How do I add a web page (an entry) to Xizzo?
Entries contain all the information stored for a specific web page,
including the URL, username, password, password hint, and memo field.
To add a web page to Xizzo, you must first select the category into
which the web page will be placed. Please note that entries DO NOT
have to be placed in categories.
|
| 1 |
Click the New Entry button. Enter the name of the entry
in the Label field and the URL in the Link field.
When adding a new entry, it is easiest to have the web page displayed

Enter the values for Username and Password in their
respective fields.
|
| 3 |
Optionally, you can enter a password Hint and/or include

| Q |
How do I put a copy of Xizzo on another computer?
|
| A |
Easily. Xizzo is very portable:
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Xizzo
- Click and drag the Xizzo folder to your portable drive
(either a flash drive, thumb drive, USB drive)
- Remove the drive and go to the new computer and insert the drive
into the USB port
- Either run Xizzo directly from the flash drive or click and
drag the Xizzo folder to the hard drive on the new computer and
run from there
Caveat: since Xizzo is tied to each computer by a registration
key, the new copy will be unregistered which means that you won't
be able to edit/add entries in files that contain more than 10 records.
The rest of the functionality will be the same.
To register this additional copy (its free):
- Launch Xizzo and click the Register button
- Click the Lost button on the next screen
- Enter the Customer Password you received in the email
message sent to you when you registered Xizzo the first time
- Copy and paste the Registration Key into the field
- Click Register
